UK SATURDAY NIGHT/SUNDAY MORNING

Yeah I guess it is, you'd think I'd been a way for ever!
Last Saturday night we saw KA by Cirque Du Soleil at America's Largest hotel the MGM Grand, in sunny Las Vegas -  this week it's back to Dancing on Ice and a take away at GRAMBO'S, I guess that's the way it goes hey?
Kay having gone will save me 30p a week! Save it towards our next project? Whatever, whenever! You will of course be the first to know.
Even despite my vote she went tonight and she knew she was going to go. She's been braver than most and she stayed longer than Steve Gately! Duncan or Lisa to win?

Caught episode 2 of Primeval on ITV tonight - although very Torchwoodish it really is quite good and creepy! Not WKD's favourite while there are creepy crawlies about, of course if I'd known about it in advance I wouldn't have gone to Vegas.....That's such a lie! Does show promise though and isn't Abby just gorgeous and I can't believe Hannah Spearitt used to be in S Club 7! Neither can I believe she is 25 and at the age of 3 was a model.....for Mothercare.

Gung Hay Fat Choy!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
WELCOME TO THE CHINESE YEAR OF THE PIG!
It would have been a boar in ancient times

If you were born in 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983 or 1995 - you were born under the sign of the pig. Like the pig, you are highly regarded for your chilvary and pureness of heart, and you often make friends for life. For pigs in 2007, any recent setbacks or obstacles can be overcome so look forward to a year in which to really shine, either personally or professionally.

Famous people born in the Year Of The Pig include Lucille Ball, Humphrey Bogart, Thomas Jefferson, Ernest Hemingway, Alfred Hitchcock, Mahalia Jackson, David Letterman, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

SOME SUPERSTITIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR.

Good Luck

  • Opening windows and/or doors is considered to 'bring in' the good luck of the new year.
  • Switching on the lights for the night is considered good luck to 'scare away' ghosts and spirits of misfortune that may compromise the luck and fortune of the new year.
  • Candy is eaten to ensure the consumer a "sweet" year.

Bad Luck

  • Buying a pair of shoes is considered bad luck. The word "shoes" is a homophone for the word for "rough" in Cantonese.
  • Buying a pair of pants is considered bad luck. The word "pants" is a homophone for the word for "bitter" in Cantonese. (Although some perceive it to be positive as the word 'pants' in Cantonese could be a homophone for the word for "wealth".)
  • A hair-cut is considered bad luck. The word "hair" is a homophone for the word for "prosperity". Thus "cutting hair" could be perceived as "cutting away your prosperity" in Cantonese.
  • Sweeping the floor is considered bad luck, as it will sweep away the good fortune and luck for the new year; in the same way that having a bath will wash away the good fortune.
  • Talking about death is inappropriate for the first few days of Chinese New Year, as it is considered inauspicious as well.
  • Buying books is bad luck, because it is a homonym to the word "lose".
