Having said that I would not blog the weather again, just before we left, I find the main highlights at least of our journey was, yes, weather. While IMPULSE KING was basically worried about the poxy bit of snow we had, first of all the taxi arrived 15 minutes early because he was a little concerned about us getting to the airport! Manchester though hadn't had much snow to speak of and the flight took off about 15 minutes late.
Seven and three quarter hours later and 6 hours behind in Chicago it was a 'white out'. Very very cold.......
IT OBVIOUSLY HAD BEEN COLD FOR SOME TIME.....
SO COLD IN FACT THAT RAFMAN HID AWAY.....
The very same IMPULSE KING was heard to say, "I've never been so cold and seen so much snow!"
There's something rather scary about watching a plane being de iced, especially when you know it's the one you are hoping to travel on!

Incidentally that fear does not disappear when you are on a plane and it is being deiced! Which incidentally happened to us more than once! Neither is it that reassuring when you get 10 yards from the gate and the captain says, "We seem to have picked up a technical fault, so we are returning to the gate" It was then the first point in our trip that we realised that Americans in general are a hell of a lot different to us BRITS! They all as a man would have rather we had taken off there and then, they, like us were well and truly delayed and were going to Vegas. I personally felt that it was better even to be delayed that we were in the hands of a capable vigilant pilot that had our best interests at heart. After all that 'technical' could have meant that the wings had fallen off!! Trouble is after about 3/4 hour or so if you haven't got in the air you have to be deiced again and believe me when I say there were a hell of a lot of planes wanting deicing that evening at O'Hare.
NO WONDER THE LUGGAGE GETS COLD!
So these are the first pictures of our Vegas trip, non of which feature glam, glitz, neon or nakedness......
