YET ANOTHER BIKERS WEDDING!

AS I MAY HAVE MENTIONED BEFORE THE REGISTRARS OFFICE SHARES PART OF OUR BUILDING AND WE GET TO SEE ALL SORTS OF WEDDINGS AND CEREMONIES.

WE HAVE HAD QUITE A FEW BIKER'S WEDDINGS THERE RECENTLY. THEY ARE GREAT TO SEE AND ALWAYS GOOD TO PHOTOGRAPH.

THIS IS THE BRIDE AND GROOM! I KID YOU NOT! THE BRIDEGROOM WAS A BEST MAN AT ONE OF OUR PREVIOUS WEDDINGS OF THIS NATURE AND WITHOUT BEING JUDGEMENTAL HE LOOKED A LOT BETTER WITH A LEATHER WAISTCOAT AND LEATHER TROUSERS!

BIT OF A LET DOWN THIS ONE AS THE BRIDE AND GROOM GOT IN TO A ROLLS ROYCE, ALBEIT A ROLLS ROYCE SURROUNDED BY ALL TYPES OF BIKES BUT STILL A ROLLS ROYCE!
LED AWAY OF COURSE BY THIS AMAZING 'TRIKE'. NOTICE THE PHOTOGRAPHER! HE WAS THE ONLY ONE DRESSED LIKE IT WAS A PROPER WEDDING!
CAN NEVER RESIST AND ALWAYS HAVE TO TAKE THE PIC OF THE TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE, INTERESTING CONTRAST HERE THOUGH BECAUSE THE BIG LEAN GREEN MACHINE BEHIND THE 'BONNY' IS ALSO A TRIUMPH WITH TWICE THE SIZE OF ENGINE!
GOOD FUN OF COURSE WAS HAD BY ALL! ONE THING NOT PICTURED THOUGH - THE CHAUFFEUR OF THE ROLLS GOT THE TRADITIONAL CHAMPAGNE AND BUCKET FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR, POPPED THE CORK EVERYONE CHEERED POURED THE GLASS FOR THE BRIDE AND THEN OPENED A CAN OF LAGER FOR THE GROOM AND PORED IT IN TO THE CHAMPAGNE GLASS. LOVELY TOUCH!!

ps if this is you and you were at this wedding or you

know who it is, get in touch! I have about 15 candid

photos of you that I would like you to have!!!!

TODAY

Met up with an old friend of mine today, well he retired from where I work some time ago and I think he's basically bored.
Every day when he came in to work he used to say "Did you know that on this day...." and then impart some amazing useless fact about the world or what happened in it on that day. Nothing's changed as I waited with baited breath for his useless info.
"Did you know that 49 years ago today," he said, ("Yes What?!) "I left school!" Really wanted to know that! So instead we are forced to go to good old wikipedia! JULY 28

What basically I'd like you to do today if you've got the time is to have a little look around my site.
Click some things on the side bar.
What do I really look like?
What Is the World Community Grid?
Who are Team Bravo?
Go and visit some of my friends.
Are you on the blogroll, does the link work?
Do you want to be on my blogroll?
E mail me over whatever.
Then there's my profile. What do you think of it?
What about The Gutter Press what is that all about?
OO there's Anon HNT what's that?
Wow look a newer site. Photoblog yeah!

So it's a click away day. Enjoy. Come back and comment and then come back often you will always be welcome.

If you are around later we'll sit down and have a chat in my comments box, I'll bring some wine and have some food around, maybe play some games - but of course I will be there to answer any questions you might have and we'll have a laugh together and good fun will be had.

IT'S A DATE, WITH MYSELF!

Hang on check this out I just VOLUNTEERED to do a taggy thing........yes VOLUNTEERED!

It may pay you to remember that at the end of this piece when I don't tag you this time and I call for VOLUNTEERS!
Well I was over at Castle of Nannbugg where Lee Ann lives and she just did this date thing where you have to find your birthday on Wikipedia and list three events, birthdays and a holiday that happen on that day. Because she's morbid she added three deaths, so am going to do that as well!
Ok then here we go
3 events :
1605 - First publication of Don Quixote.
1819 - Simón Bolívar proclaims the Republic of Colombia.
Now 3 births :

1927 – Eartha Kitt American actress and singer
1942 - Muhammad Ali, American boxer
1943 - Chris Montez, American singer
3 Deaths :
1369 - King Peter I of Cyprus (murdered) (b. 1328)
1861 - Lola Montez, Irish-born adventurer (b. 1821)
1977 - Gary Gilmore, American murderer (b. 1940)
January 17th is the feast day of St. Anthony and in Ancient Latvia - Zirgu Diena observed !!
So I'm not tagging anyone.....but if you'd like to volunteer just remember I did!! Next time I'm tagging those that don't volunteer this time ok?!

MORE WEBCAM FUN!

First of all my greatest sympathy to all those people that are suffering because of the adverse weather conditions both in this country and round the world.
Having said that in our tiny little corner of the North West of England, the Wirral Peninsula and in particular Hoylake, it's been a glorious day!
Is this the weather channel all of a sudden?

From the webcam at the Hoylake Lifeboat Station comes this picture via my son in Oxfords PC and probably about 100,000 miles of satellite and ether coverage, of me on the phone - this afternoon!

Around about the same time as I turned round and took these two pictures!
Another screen shot from the same webcam sees me multi tasking, phone and camera together and just to the left of the picture, two labradors!

Yes you've guessed it - these two labradors!!
The next picture is of the other webcam that gives a view of Hilbre Island - it's the little silver thing on the right of the picture
This is the view that that camera takes and thats me in the middle at the bottom taking the above picture!
When I turned round this is the picture that I took of Hilbre Island!
So that's how I and now you know it was a glorious day in Hoylake!
It was great fun and a good opportunity to show off our wonderful coastline!! Now if you really got in to this you could tonight by clicking HERE watch some of the best sunsets in the entire world! It will be a good one tonight!!
Isn't technology wonderful?!
Thanks Tim and to Wirral Web Cam.

WEBCAM FUN?

Remember the other night when I took the Sunset pics? (By the way check out just some of the pics that I took on my photoblog HERE) I was on a webcam taking the pictures and the 'anchor man' was my son in Oxford, well he's kept that webcam in his favourites and he keeps taking screen shots and sending them to me. Sad yes but fun!
Look Dad there's horses on the beach!! He's 180 miles away telling me what is on the beach literally 1/4 mile away!

So last night he sent me an E mail with this pic that said.....Spooky?

No! Not spooky at all can you see what has happened here? No. Here is a pic from the outside the web cam on the right! Does that help?
Glad we've cleared that up!!

THERE WILL BE MORE WEBCAM FUN LATER!!

MENDHI NIGHT

You know what, this is a strange post for me! The picture is a flyer for a play being held at the Edinburgh fringe and it's on here for two reasons.
(1) I really like the picture, good enough yeah?
(2) The production marks the directorial debut of my cousin Julia!

I really don't expect anyone extra to go and see it because it's on here, nor anyone to even comment on this post.....prove me wrong!
However the 'new edgy' me says this is my blog, I will put on it what I want and basically to hell with anyone else!
Do you think that is the right attitude, do you find that people try and influence what you post and don't post and is it right?

Mehndi Night
Only two weeks to go until the most hotly-anticipated world premiere of the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe!
Award-winning playwright Fin Kennedy's latest play from the streets of East London looks set to storm the Festival.
Venue 45, Jeffrey St, Edinburgh, 2-11 August 2007
"Eastern look with an East End attitude. We're the square pegs of the world."
Live and direct from London's Banglatown, this year's youngest Edinburgh Fringe performers will be an all-female ensemble of ten Bengali teenagers from Tower Hamlets, E1. Featuring blistering performances from a multi-talented young cast, MEHNDI NIGHT is the result of a pioneering collaboration between Fin Kennedy and the girls of Mulberry School. The result is a unique new play about the experiences of third generation Bengali women in the UK, a group all too often hidden from view. It will be performed by the girls themselves for 9 performances only at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe. The show has already been tipped by Guardian theatre critic Lyn Gardner as one of the highlights of this year's Fringe.
MEHNDI NIGHT by Fin Kennedy and Mulberry Theatre Company
"Culture is not a pick and mix. Life is not a buffet. It is a samosa. Every ingredient in harmony with every other. Then carefully wrapped and sealed from prying eyes."
At a traditional Bangladeshi celebration the night before a wedding, the women of the community gather to sing, dance and bless the bride-to-be. But when an uninvited guest turns up bringing painful memories from the past, everyone present is forced to confront their own fears, prejudices and longings.
An extraordinary insight into a community all too often overlooked by British theatre, MEHNDI NIGHT puts third generation Bengali women centre stage and reveals the joy and the pain of a 21st century cross-cultural identity. This performance will involve transforming Venue 45 in Edinburgh into a traditional Bengali party space. Audience members will be welcomed as guests at the party, by performers in traditional dress. Every ticket will include a free samosa and cup of chai!BOOK EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT:
Venue 45
39 Jeffrey Street (off Royal Mile)

SATURDAY FUN! ARGUABLY!

I've posted most of these before and they are all from the same person, Jack Handey of 'Saturday Night Live'

I make no excuses for the lazy post - it's been a hell of a week. Enjoy!

• Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?
• If one synchronized swimmer drowns, do the rest drown too?
• If you try to fail, and succeed, which have you done?
• Why is it called tourist season if we can't shoot at them?
• Why is the alphabet in that order? Is it because of that song?
• If the "blackbox" flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash, why isn't the whole damn airplane made out of that stuff?
• The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live.
• Should crematoriums give discounts for burn victims?
• Whose cruel idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have a "S" in it?
• What hair colour do they put on the driver's licenses of bald men?
• Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
• Why do they put Braille on the drive-through bank machines?
• How do blind people know when they are done "wiping?
• Whenever I need to "get away,'' I just get away in my mind. I go to my imaginary spot, where the beach is perfect and the water is perfect and the weather is perfect. The only bad thing there are the flies. They're terrible!
• I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
• If any man says he hates war more than I do, he better have a knife, that's all I have to say.
• There should be a detective show called "Johnny Monkey," because every week you could have a guy say "I ain't gonna get caught by no MONKEY," but then he would, and I don't think I'd ever get tired of that.
• I think a good novel would be where a bunch of men on a ship are looking for a whale. They look and look, but you know what? They never find him. And you know why they never find him? It doesn't say. The book leaves it up to you, the reader, to decide. Then, at the very end, there's a page you can lick and it tastes like Kool-Aid.
• If I had a mine shaft, I don't think I would just abandon it. There's got to be a better way.
• Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someone's neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what IS that thing?!
• I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.
• Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.
• It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
• Whenever someone asks me to define love, I usually think for a minute, then I spin around and pin the guy's arm behind his back. NOW who's asking the questions?
• If the Vikings were around today, they would probably be amazed at how much glow-in-the-dark stuff we have, and how we take so much of it for granted.
• If you get invited to your first orgy, don't just show up nude. That's a common mistake. You have to let nudity "Happen".
• If Alien was my friend, I'd like to be with him when he went to the dentist. When they started drilling, he'd probably go nuts and start eating everybody. That Alien!
• Better not take a dog on the space shuttle, because if he sticks his head out when you're coming home, his face might burn off.

TAKE FIVE FRIDAY

YEAH EVERYBODY IT'S FRIDAY AGAIN. TIME FOR TAKE FIVE FRIDAY! YOU KNOW THE RULES BETTER THAN ME SO HERE WE GO.
REGULARS WILL NOTICE THAT THIS IS A RETURN TRIP TO THE ROOF OF THE WIRRAL MUSEUM, WHERE I WORK! NO SHOTS OF THE RIVER THIS TIME. SO IT'S HAMILTON SQUARE BIRKENHEAD WIRRAL AND THE FIRST ONE IS COLLOQUIALLY KNOWN AS 'VICTORIA'S WEDDING CAKE' BUT REALLY IS A REPLICA ELEANOR CROSS.
THE WAR MEMORIAL IN THE FOREGROUND IS FOR THE DEAD OF BIRKENHEAD FROM WORLD WAR ONE. THIS RATHER MAJESTIC TOWER IS THE TOWER OF HAMILTON SQUARE RAILWAY STATION. ANUNDERGROUND STATION THAT IS AS DEEP AS THE TOWER IS TALL BECAUSE IT USED TO BE BECAUSE OF THE HYDRAULICS INVOLVED THAT THE LIFT HAD TO HAVE AS MUCH ABOVE IT AS BELOW.
THE DOUBLE TOWERED BUILDING IS JUST ONE OF THE VENTILATION SHAFTS FOR THE QUEENSWAY - BIRKENHEAD - ROAD TUNNEL.
RIGHT ACROSS THE RIVER CAN BE SEEN THE METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE KING, LIVERPOOL. ALSO KNOWN AS 'PADDY'S WIGWAM' AND 'THE MERSEY FUNNEL'! OR OF COURSE 'THE CATHOLIC ONE'
HARDLY A CLOSE UP BUT JUST PART OF THE DISPLAY OF TREES AND FLOWERS TO BE SEEN IN HAMILTON SQUARE.
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYBODY!!
