KEEP IT IN THE FAMILY
Well I'm gobsmacked, in fact my gob has never been so smacked, well for a while anyway! I love this internet thing you know! I enjoy the blogging, meet some lovely people, read some wild and beautiful, clever and stupid blogs, seen some amazing, awesome, horrible, cute pictures and as an example just yesterday I spent more time on other blogs than mine! One in particular!
I've always said I don't and won't do myspace! Maybe it's because I don't want to look like Billy No Mates. You know EBEZP has 8 friends, DJ Tiesto has 192,234 friends. However I have also always said the myspace platform is terrific for the younger generation. The generation that send one word text messages and uses Messenger like they would a mobile phone. I've seen VEGAS KID and RAFMAN have four windows going on at once on Messenger and on a mobile phone at the same time as well as sending and receiving mainly sick pics on E mail, so for them myspace is really good and for those that want to be competitive it can be that as well.
They both - ONESON/TWOSON will do this openly on my pc and of course I can access their myspaces and it's all lighthearted and really good fun.
Now I'm not against fun, far from it in fact but I do know my limitations and I am the 'boring old fart' generation and proud of it, regular readers will know I was 50 a couple of weeks ago but I have to say that sometimes it's all I can do to post simple things on this ever so simple blogspot. I've learnt a lot from especially VEGAS KID about developing 'his' myspace and struggled with him getting for example videos from you tube on to his space. 130 friends in just a couple of months, one of his friends, his brother despite being in communications was taught everything about myspace by him!
He also thinks that blogging is for 'older' people, not because of the pace or relative easiness but more that it's not as versatile as myspace.
A couple of days ago, since our return from Vegas I posted his myspace address on this here slow and unversatile thing as a way for people who may have wanted to see some more of our Vegas pics they could on his new slide show! After all who do you think took the pics of him in Vegas? Umm, let me think about that one!
To be honest I wasn't even aware that myspace also had a blog space? But today I got the text message. CHK OUT MYSPAC BLOG.
I digress, why was my gob so smacked? On his myspace blog was the following and I thought I would repost it in this as a thank you.

Keep it in the family! Current mood: pensive Category: Blogging
Ok, so I don't really do this 'blog' thing. Infact, this is my first Blog, ever! Its really been my Dad who has introduced me to this whole thing. After failed attempts to convince him that myspace was the way forward, I listened to him and he had convinced me that blogging, to put it in his words was 'the myspace for the boring old fart generation', which he admittedly falls in to! This may or may not be true, but as it happens is, as far as my family is concerned. I post comments and make slideshows, while he writes interesting, but often pointless, sometimes funny blog stories and comments on his posted pictures. We often point out the similarities between the two methods of communication and as it happens this blog, albeit not my preffered way of writting, comes in the form of a favour to my Dad. To repay the favour infact that the plug for my myspace page recieved on his blog. So in return, not only am I going against my better judgement of joining the b.o.f club, and posting my first blog, but also including his blogspot as part of it. So if you fancy checking out some cool pics, reading some maybe useful, maybe ridiculous things, jokes and general opinions shared by my Dad, or you're just another blogger, who may or may not fall into the afore mentioned group, then check out his spot. If you do consider yourself in the 'typical Dad' generation, then I'm sure you will have plenty to talk about, If not I'm also sure that you will find at least one entry amusing/bewildering/interesting/pointless (delete as appropriate).http://wilkonews.blogspot.com
So there you have it. First blog finished, favour returned, and none of it really too distressing! You never know Dad, I might still become a fine little blogger afterall!
It goes without saying that once again I will plug his myspace. So for VEGAS KID :
http://www.myspace.com/matoeira
and for RAFMAN :
http://www.myspace.com/djwilko839
You will of course be welcome. You can lurk safely and check out their friends etc. It can be fun!
Thanks again mate really enjoyed that!
METHINKS THE WORLD HAS GONE A TAD MAD
I like almost every blog that I've visited has had something to say about Britney or bald women or some such related topic!
Yes I posted the picture of her bald and yes I posted a pic or 2 of other bald women. Everywhere people have been discussing her musical merits, her 'turn on ability' bald or not, right down to my work colleague, who said, "Bald or not I'd still ..............!
My opinion now is let's just leave her alone, the poor girl needs help and she finally seems to be seeking it. Anyhow most people seem a bit fed up of the whole thing, I mean who really cares?
Today's Metro carried this story and pic :
The moment Britney Spears would have been dreading has finally arrived – the very first Britney Rehab Doll.
The new shaved head figurine, complete with straight jacket,
is currently fetching bids on eBay for $82 (£42).
Manufacturers softened the blow for the struggling singer by slimming down her figure to Barbie size proportions. Paparazzi can breathe a sigh of relief, as Spears' arms are firmly tied down in a white straight jacket, so she can't make any frenzied umbrella attacks.
So our intrepid WILKONEWS reporter went straight on to E Bay! and found no items like the one pictured above so I can only guess that it is already sold because I doubt it has been withdrawn on moral grounds!
However I did find this 3" x 4" fridge magnet of the NY Post's front page,
this bald Britney doll with free flower (WHAT?)
and this Bald Britney doll in panties!
Each pic complete with E Bay copyright icon!

ICE CREAM FLAVOURS
The young man entered the Ice Cream Palace and asked, "What kinds of ice cream do you have?" "Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry," the girl wheezed as she spoke, patted her chest and seemed unable to continue. "Do you have laryngitis?" the young man asked sympathetically. "Nope," she whispered, "just vanilla, chocolate and strawberry."
Now here's a funny thing. Last night in Coronation Street, well the advert breaks before during and after there were three CDs advertised.
1. Dr Hook - Hits and History
2. ELO - Out of the Blue
3. 101 Hits of the 80's
Call me cynical but I have to ask why? Dr Hook had a great sound, I've done everything to Dr Hook tracks and yes I do mean everything, to say nothing of Sylvia's Mother. The Electric Light Orchestra were brilliant and Out of the Blue one of the best albums ever. I've got it on vinyl and I guess it's always a good one to get on CD. As for the compilation well I can't say that the eighties were my favourite decade for music. Better than the nineties but not as good as the seventies but even having said that my guess is that I already have in some format or other 90 of the tracks on this 5 disc set. Yes I accept the challenge I will get the track listings and check, results to follow..........
Thank you WKD I really hadn't thought..............
IT'S MOTHERS DAY IN 3 WEEKS!!
It all falls in to place they're only advertising these 'golden oldies' for Mums. That's why they were in and around Corrie!
Thankfully my mum would kill me if I bought her those! But she was born in 1923 not 1973!
Lisa Marie Novak
Picture on the left as an astronaut and on the right, criminal!
QUEEN HELEN
Is it just me or has Helen Mirren got more attractive as she gets older?
Ok there's a sad old part of me that did watch the begining part of the Oscars but it's silly o clock when it finishes so they were still on the non important bits when I went to bed.
However it was great to see that Helen Mirren got an Oscar for playing The Queen and dedicating it to the real live Queen. Nice one!
The bottom picture is current and how she was at the Oscar ceremony
DOGGY BLOGGY
Ok there's a new dog on the block!
Meet JASON the 12 week old Golden Retriever on his first photo shoot.
Long time friend of WILKONEWS, Sheila has got a new puppy!
Yeah!!
Thank you Sheila for introducing him to GRAMBO, VEGAS KID, MAINMAN & WKD. He is absolutely gorgeous, huggable and squeezable and maybe should have been called Andrex but only til he starts to look like a proper Goldie!
THAT WAS THE WEEKEND THEN
NOW MINE STARTS.......!
Yes I do like Dancing On Ice as regular readers will know. From the begining I really did think that if a woman was going to win it it would be Lisa Scott Lee and a man Duncan. So what on earth happened on Saturday night.
Duncan put in a faultless performance and scored really well from the judges. Lisa has skated better but it was heaps better than all the other women left in. Good old British public I say!? What went wrong? Both in the skate off! No way!
To make matters just a little worse, Lisa skated better than Duncan in the skate off and still went. Wrong! That's all I can say.
Last in the series of When will I be Famous, the BBC contender for prime time awards. I'd never seen it before but I so hate Graham Norton! The acts on it however were really really good and I was surprised at the talent. Saturday nights winners - Red Hot Chilli Pipers - were tremendous and well deserved to win the money but at least 5 of the acts would have equally deserved the prize.
But my God, the judges! With the possible exception of Dave Spikey, who can be very funny but wasn't on the show. Max Clifford the UK's most hated publicist and W.T.F. is Chuck Harris?!
The only link really between the programmes is for me that I can't really work out who I hate the most, Philip Schofield or Graham Norton! Fortunately the contestants in both make for good Saturday night entertainment and consequently good Monday morning blogging!
Well maybe not so good but hey!
Sunday night's Wild at Heart was superb in every respect. The scripting, always good seems to have improved since the begining of this series and it is an absolute delightful 'feel good' proey. With Amanda Holden of course but doesn't Hayley Mills look good and she could even be AH's mum they look so alike!
Sarah Parish is fantastic in everything she has ever been in, especially Cutting It with the afore mentioned AH. Sunday night's BBC drama 'Recovery' was a well scripted one off play offering a wonderful insight in to mental health issues magnificently played by SP and 'The Doctor', David Tennant. Well done all round especially the writing and directing teams.
As Sunday night turns in to Monday morning, the incredible presentation that is The Oscars starts on Sky. What capable presenters for both programmes, Fern Cotton and Claudia Winkleman from the gorgeous new breed of young female presenters.
WEEKEND WOMEN
SARAH PARISH AND DAVID TENNANT WHO PUT IN TREMENDOUS PERFORMANCES IN RECOVERY ON SUNDAY NIGHT BBC
SARAH PARISH AGAIN THIS TIME WITH AMANDA HOLDEN WHO WAS IN WILD AT HEART ALSO ON SUNDAY NIGHT.
FERN COTTON PRESENTED THE RED CARPET BIT FROM THE OSCARS ON SKY AND CLAUDIA WINKLEMAN ONCE THEY WERE INSIDE!
