It is indeed a very beautiful structure! I have always been fascinated with ruins and thaey have also been the subject of my painting & poetry!

Mona yes certain parts of the Priory date back to the 12th century and it was the home to the monks that first established a ferry service across the Mersey as in the song and the pic on my side bar over there >>>.
