I fully support this initiative but am not posting specifically for it. However I would like every person that visits here today to just think a little bit about women and children (oh and men too) who are in abusive domestic relationships and suffering the curse of modern day society - domestic violence.

For anyone caught up as victims PLEASE just Google 'domestic violence helplines' there are nearly a million sites waiting to support you and help you get out and here are just three that will be of some help to you : Samaritans : NSPCC : Womens Aid.

Noteworthy post, Simon, you may just help someone with this today.

I may have to borrow that image - may have to mark this myself.

As someone who has seen a family members face beaten to a pulp by the man who 'loved' her, this is a cause I back wholeheartedly.

Thank you everyone, I'm not going to patronise or cheapen the initiative or the cause by making flippant remarks.

Geographically I live in a relatively small area and within that relatively small area one person a day is hospitalised because of domestic violence!
85% of the cases are alcohol related, 15 in every year are men and only 1.5% of the total end up in court and then not all of them lead to convictions.
Makes you think doesn't it?

Thanks again to everyone!
