Apparently our middles say a lot about us! So I'm told when I was tagged yet again, this one is all about middle names! I was tagged by Jules Gee thanks and I thought you were my friend!!

I actually said to Jules that my middle name was Beelzebub! She didn't believe me and neither should you because it's not true. Maybe I should let you all guess, that would be far more fun for me!

Ok my middle name is M A R K funny thing is that when I was a radio presenter I actually changed my name and Mark became my first name, now that was based on the age old adage of not tripping over with your tongue on your own name and frankly Simon Wilkinson had far too many syllables so while I was DJing I was Mark Simons!
Kind of a loose link I must admit but it'll have to do!
M is for music! Note I said Music not Musical! I can not make Music at all ok, Matt my youngest son once tried to teach me how to play the guitar, that lasted about 15 minutes. I didn't see how or why I had to learn all the notes and how to play them I just wanted to play like Jimmy Page instantly! Start with Stairway to Heaven and work backwards!! Both the lads like their mother are musical, ie they can play almost any instrument competently within a very short time, makes me sick really! Especially Matt who bought a ukelele and literally took 20 minutes to master it and sound just like George Formby - ask your mum or dad they'll know!!
I am a self confessed Boring Old Fart and a real old 'rocker' at that. I love my music but not at all convinced that anything very much since about 1995 is music at all! If you can't play air guitar and air drums to it then it's probably not particularly worth it!! Oh and I do mime exceptionally well and can adequately change from air guitar to air drums to air keyboard and back again!!
Ironically enough or so it would seem M is also for memories and where would we be without Music on that score! Forgive the pun!
A for the purpose of this argument is for Adventure. As one or two of you may have gathered over the last couple of weeks in particular I am as I have been called a bit of a travel whore! I make no excuses whatsoever, in fact it suits me down to the ground! Mostly because my adventure starts when I leave my house and not when I arrive at the destination! I have been known to refer to the best parts of my travels/adventures as WOWS! A wow a day keeps boredom at bay! At important junctures of my life, I seek adventure, a break from routine, a relief from boredom. Even me mum last week when I came back from Athens breathed a sigh of relief because she deep down didn't think I'd come back! They had a book open at work about the same thing!
A tag of 8 random things about me done earlier in the week lists a few things that tie in to adventure or adrenalin. Read it again if you wish from an adventure view point you'll see what I mean!
Coast to coast of the USA on a Greyhound bus, seeing the Grand Canyon, yes and even having sex with different people in different states or countries, going to Las Vegas to see five shows by Cirque du Soleil all smack of the Spirit of Adventure! So do you wonder why peeps often think I might not be back!!
Oh and don't dare me to do anything - but that's another story!

Kin as in family and their importance. It was going to be kind and I'm not saying I'm not kind but my blood family are important to me! Very important! There isn't anything that I wouldn't do for my lads - 22 and 26 - and me mum. The very fact that mum was almost surprised that I came back from Athens really indicates that she knows that she is really the only reason I came back!! I pride myself in knowing where my boys are and what they are doing, more or less, wherever I am or where they are in the world! I used to have on my header to this blog incorporating askdad.com because way before Google their one source of information was me. Even if it was just texting answers for a pub quiz to them!!
So that's all your getting about my middle!!

It was one of those mornings....you know the type, you've been away, you really want to be in the sunnier climes were you were earlier the same week....the QE2 was visiting Liverpool for the last time ever. Get up early she's arriving between 7 and 8....time to take some beautiful shots with the rising sun, a little bit of enthusiasm returns.
Work doesn't get any better the rain continues but to be fair it does get a bit brighter so at lunch time I brave the soaked pavement to go and have another look. Yeah she looks ok doesn't she but by the time you download that it won't really make up for the one earlier being so grey will it?!
Oh thank God that is over the working day more so than the rain but all of a sudden everybody seems to be smiling except the boss! She's only been in an hour or so her hair is still wet! Can I just check my E mails please? No! Gee Thanks! Friday remember and I was in early so it's POETS (Piss Off Early Tomorrows Saturday!) day for me....you can all do one! Sod it I think I'll go home and see if there's any E mails for me. Has she E mailed? Oh I hope so! I've got tons of pics of the bloody ship anyway!
Get home finished work until tomorrow because it isn't ever really POETS day for me because I work weekends! Sun still shining hey let's put those pics on the computer, straight away, I'll probably do a post tonight, just with some of those later pics. Tell you what while I'm sorting them out just check my E mails.....

Where we are actually at, on the map so to speak, even that is quite difficult! Well I'm not going to make it easy!! Merseyside is a county that in theory doesn't exist as an administrative area but is a good place to start as a geographic location! The little map shows the extent of this little corner of North West England. The penninsula is called Wirral and often wrongly as The Wirral. I live in Hoylake and work in Birkenhead. Which in itself is just a short trip by ferry, train or through one of the two road tunnels to Liverpool!
Liverpool is a fantastically vibrant globally well known city, made famous either by The Beatles and it's music or its football (soccer) club. As cities in the UK go it is the sixth largest and celebrated its 800th birthday on August 29th this year. Next year 2008 Liverpool is the European Capital of Culture and it's world famous waterfront has 3 years ago won the prize of being designated a World Heritage site by Unesco! It has two famous cathedrals, 2 famous football teams, one amazing river, The Mersey, an airport named after a dead Beatle! and it's symbol is a non existent bird!!
Wirral is one of five boroughs that make up the former county council and although is statistically far more rural that really means more empty spaces Birkenhead and it's environs grew up almost entirely on ship building although it does have the oldest building on Merseyside at it's centre.
When first given this tag I thought it would be just a question of reposting the pictures of the 800 birthday post CLICK HERE but to justify this tag I have to say that everything written above is just part of what makes me proud to be a scouser and I love them all! If you can't sort out 10 things there then we've probably all done something wrong!!

Well I am extremely right handed, I mean very right handed! I mean I do everything with my right hand. No big deal but it's random isn't it?
As a photographer it isn't usually a problem of course but recently I finished a 16 week unbroken run on The Other HNT you might not know about this site and if you are easily offended don't even go there!!! You're curious now though aren't you?
Oh not just me but some of the others also have obviously taken a picture of themselves while the other hand is doing something else!!
When I say everything, I mean just how difficult can it be to take a photo of yourself? Think about it!

Especially over the last couple of weeks and rightly so by the way I have been 
called a travel whore! I like the title to be honest because I am!! In the last 10 months I have been fortunate enough to visit, Kracow, Las Vegas, Paris three times and most recently Athens. That's just outside the UK btw! I love the travel as well as the destinations and I've only been back 2 days and am already looking for my next destination.....any suggestions?
However wherever I go I have to have at least one pint of Guinness! I used to insist it was draught but I now settle for bottled as well! If I go back anywhere I have to find a new place for my taste of the beautiful Irish beer!! So far I have not failed!

At the age of 40 I got a GCSE A* in Sociology and two years later at the age of 42 I got a Grade B A level in Politics. For those not in the UK that's actually quite good for my age!!
Add that to the degree that I have in Bullshit gained from the University of Life!

Another travel whore thing concerns the Hard Rock Cafe group. I have to visit and I have to buy something! Usually a tee shirt but more 
if I visit one with my son Matt who has a discount card!! Pictured above! The group has grown so big though I did want at one time to visit all of them but I will never do that now but as many as I can would be good! Athens threw one in on me away from the actual Hard Rock Cafe they have a Hard Rock Store which I visited also because I didn't know whether they were included! Oh I make the rules so yes they were included.
