BIRKENHEAD

Ok - Birkenhead, one time 'smack city' UK has improved now. Now it's only the people that really pull the place down! I once made a rather flippant suggestion to Merseytravel. To close the following stations - Bidston, Birkenhead North, Birkenhead Park, Conway Park, Hamilton Square and Birkenhead Central and in the ide of Liverpool South Parkway open a brand new station, centrally located called 'Knob Head City'.
Needless to say the idea never took off and anyway it would have meant me having a longer journey to work!
It was once listed in a book of the '100 Worst towns in Britain' and quite frankly I objected to that because of the reasons and indeed the competition!

So bored and wanting to Google I put in the word BIRKENHEAD!

In the course of other research I had already found a Birkenhead Brewery Company in South Africa based in a town called, yep Birkenhead.
Birkenhead Bridge, Adelaide, Australia.
Birkenhead, a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand.
Birkenhead Point, Sydney, Australia. Now there's a funny thing because there is a Liverpool in Sydney as well.
To cap the lot however was a place in British Columbia, Canada, just to the north of Whistler where the next winter Olympics are going to be held called Birkenhead Lake, which pictured below may visually have the edge on all the others!
