SO THE X FACTOR IS UP AND RUNNING ONCE AGAIN SO WHO ELSE OTHER THAN THE LOVELY KATE THORNTON...........
.........Kate Thornton (born February 7, 1973 in Cheltenham) is a British journalist and television presenter. She started her career at the Sunday Mirror in 1992 as an editorial assistant. In 1995, she became the youngest ever editor of Smash Hits at age 22, though she left after only a year. Her success as a journalist continued with her work as a feature writer for the Sunday Times and her current position as contributing editor for Marie Claire.
In addition to her achievements as a journalist, Kate has also presented a number of high profile television programmes. Starting out in the late 1990s, with programmes such as The Kate and Jono Show (VH1), This Morning (ITV1), and Don’t Try This At Home (ITV1). She has also executive produced Breasts Uncupped, Better Mind Your Bollocks and Women: The Naked Truth (Sky1) which dealt with the complicated and highly emotional issues of breast and testicular cancer and eating disorders. She worked as a TV presenter on the Channel 4 cookery/dating show Dishes, Co-hosted the stunt daring show Don't Try This at Home and the BBC series Holiday - You Call the Shots. She also sometimes presented Top of the Pops. In 2000 Kate also made the record books when she presented the webcast for Madonna's Brixton Academy gig, the world's most watched webcast, which attracted 30 million viewers worldwide.Then in 2001 and again in 2003 she hosted the ITV2 Pop Idol backstage program, Pop Idol Extra. In 2004 and 2005 she hosted The X Factor, and will host for 2006. In 2005, she also hosted the less successful Celebrity Wrestling, all for ITV.
She also provided the voice for the entertainment correspondent (voiced by Joan Rivers in the U.S.) in the UK version of the film Shrek 2.
In 2006, Thornton hosted a segment on ITV's coverage of The Prince's Trust 30th Birthday LIVE, along side Patrick Kielty. She also hosted The X Factor: Battle of the Stars during May and June of the same year.
