So I was looking at some pics from 'my friend', yes the one that inspired Foreigner posted last week and the chat was about sunsets and clouds and trees and a few other 'sloppy' (?) images and I mentioned this song and said it was not my cup of tea, nor was I a fan at all of the 'old crooner ' that sang it.
Oh once again how wrong can one be just look at the words for a start!
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day
For love may come and tap you on
the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day
For love may come and tap you on
the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight
(Pocketful of starlight, hm,hm,hm,hm,hm,hm)
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day(Save it for a rainy, save it for a rainy, rainy, rainy, day)
For when your troubles start
multiplyin' and they just might
It's easy to forget them without tryin'
With just a pocketful of starlight
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day(Save it for a rainy day)
Save it for a rainy day
Then I found this video, - The Sensational Perry Como sings a special Frank Gallop arrangement of 'Catch A Falling Star' - with hilarious results! On one of Perry's TV Shows from 1958. This video footage is taken from the compilation VHS - 'The Best Of Perry Como Volume One', originally released in 1991....It is superb, press the button before you criticize hey!!

Well I for one enjoy a good old crooner from time to time... and I thought this video was hilarious! Watching his face as the shenanigans went on was great!
I like how The Odessa File opens with Perry singing Christmas Dream on Jon Voight's car radio.
His face was a picture Si, and I do like the odd old crooner myself..x
Glad you liked it Jules!
Thank you Andy I love the Odessa File!
Emma, his face makes the video, nothing wrong with old crooners....I guess!
