CINCO DE MAYO

Photobucket

The 5th of May is not Mexican Independence Day, but it should be! And Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, but it should be. Mexico declared its independence from mother Spain on midnight, the 15th of September, 1810. And it took 11 years before the first Spanish soldiers were told and forced to leave Mexico.

Hey Si
I think Cinqo de Mayo should actually be a Canadian holiday. No real reason for it except that it's my birthday that day and wouldn't it be grat to have your birthday on a national holiday?

Oh Vixey really thought you were going to come up with some kind of fantastic link between Canada and Mexico!!!
That's so much better!!
Happy happy Birthday, hope you have a great day!!
For your information however it is a national holiday in the UK as its May Day bank holiday!! That's because it is the first Monday though not because it's the 5th!!!!
